Offering private coaching in connection to lyric, acting a song and cabaret performance as well as creative consultation and direction of cabaret shows or solo theatrical pieces. I'm also available for workshops in Cabaret Performance or Cabaret History for high schools, colleges, or arts organizations.

As a teaching artist for over 20 years, I have taught all ages from pre-school to retirement homes. In each class I bring the same philosophy to my teaching, no matter the age of the students. “Art, Theatre, and Music are ways for us to connect with our most authentic self, and to explore the world around us.”

I apply this same philosophy in private coaching, and directing/consulting on cabaret projects.  Our goal is to help you have an authentic connection to the material and to your audience.  In private coaching, consultations, and cabaret directing, I've worked with a wide variety of experience levels from beginners to Emmy nominated performers.

If you are interested in talking about private coaching, having me direct or consult on your next cabaret show, or scheduling a workshop for your school/organization fill out the contact form below.

If you are looking to join a group class please check out my offerings through 92Y School of Music.

Client Testimonials

“Our class this week was transformative. I’ve been focusing so much on signing technique, I think I’d lost the emotional link. So my class work with you seems to have opened a door and it’s very exciting!” — Susan Olds

"Michael has a unique gift for helping an artist to focus on the heart and inspiration for their cabaret show and has a wealth of ideas for finding just the right song to create each moment. He asks questions about the story and purpose of what you want to share and then helps you find a balance in your show so the audience will leave feeling full of music and memorable moments."
