
MY STORY
Michael Kirk Lane is an award-winning cabaret artist, most recently winning Manhattan Association of Cabaret Awards in both 2022 and 2020. He was also the recipient of the 2018 BroadwayWorld Cabaret Award for Best Cabaret Show. BroadwayWorld Cabaret has called Lane “one of the most popular performers and people working in cabaret today.” Cabaret Scenes Magazine has deemed Lane’s work “musical comedy heaven.” His work as Director of Cabaret Programs for 92NY School of Music, including the founding of the 92NY Summer Cabaret Conference, has been featured in the New York Times. He holds both a B.A. and an L.H.D. (h.c) from Siena Heights University.
Lane was seen Off-Broadway in the cast of “Hell’s Belles” and has appeared in developmental readings and demo recordings for many musicals, including readings at The York Theatre, The Dramatist Guild, Jerry Orbach Theatre, and other venues throughout the city.
Lane is one of the Executive Producers of "Duncan the Skunk and the Big Costume Trunk" which debuted on Hellosaurus in summer 2021. He also serves as Associate Producer for No Strings Productions, making puppet films for children in troubled areas of the world. In addition he is a member of the voice cast for International Children's Television's YouTube series "The Flying Tent".
As a teaching artist for over 20 years, Lane has taught all ages from pre-school to retirement homes. In each class he brings the same philosophy to his teaching, no matter the age of the students. “Art, Theatre, and Music are ways for us to connect with our most authentic self, and to explore the world around us.”
